Watching him as he posed the question Rey's eyes narrowed slightly, fighting the smirk that threatened to appear on her face. "Not all of it. Some chills aren't so easy to shake I suppose."
"Of course," she tilted her head. "Your blood must need a good deal of warming if you're challenging me." Rey was fairly agile, and a fair bit slighter in stature than he was. She could run circles around him without trying. It was certainly one way to warm up.
"In a manner of speaking," she couldn't help but let at least a small smirk slip through as she reached for her staff, stepping forward as she spun it slowly.
"I do - try not to be too intimidated." Swinging it in a lazy arc around herself she stopped, gripping the center of the staff as she looked at him. "Do your worst."
He swung his sword, flexing his wrists a bit more, and readjusting his grip. He watched her center herself and considered. With the flat, he moved swiftly.
Smaller and faster than he was - though she found him to be surprisingly quick for a man of his size - Rey darted out of the way of his advance only to attack him from the side, her staff aimed for his sword, seeking to disarm him.
That surprising speed did not let up, quickly side-stepping the attempt of disarming, and striking back with the sword. Though admittedly, the side step was at the last second, and if one were to look close, they would see that his grip on the hilt was tightened.
Ah, but the blow from his sword was not his aim. As she blocked that, he reached for the staff, looking to grab it. His leg moved just in time to avoid the kick, but he did shoot her a look of 'really'?
That just got a raise eyebrow in return. Oh, so you've looked, he wants to say, but he's never been capable of chatting even in a practice spar. He has to focus on the matter at hand.
Chuckling at the slight raise of his brow she paid for being distracted, dodging a swing at the last second before backing up to put some space between them again.
He used the space, trying to judge where best to move next. This was different to most fights - she was smaller and more agile, though he had the same speed if he chose to use it. Maybe...
Well, she might have been able to sweep his legs, if the Force did not warn him to her presence. He moves quickly, side-stepping her staff and looking to strike it with her sword.
