It still didn't sound real - a lady who looked like that being anyone's grandmother and Rey's eyes went wide as she shook her head in confusion as the thought reoccurred to her. His compliment derailed her train of thought and her gaze focused on him again, glancing at her carving in his hands. "It passes the time anyway," she shrugged, embarrassed by the way she'd decided to share that with him.
"So are your family magic, or not?" Rey asked the question quite suddenly, squinting across at him.
"It sounds like a good way to pass it," he handed the bird back to her. "You show skill." He pauses, and there's an almost smirk. Oh, so is that the story going around then? He looked.
"Not a story so much as an observation," she tilted her head a bit looking at him. "You're all awfully strong and pretty, and sort of," she narrowed her eyes looking for the right word. "I don't know, you make people look." As if to illustrate that point Rey realized how intently she'd been looking at him and glanced away.
"Don't know, magic's rather tricky. I know what I consider not magic. Are you?"
"One likely isn't stealth is it? I could hear you coming from yards away," Rey's eyes darted back to him and she smirked lightly. "So how can I help you sleep honored guest? Should I put the tea on?" As much of an double-entendre as it may have seemed, it was a sincere question.
"Well, if it's the wisest choice," nodding her head sideways towards the fire she lifted her shoulders in a small shrug before turning and once more sinking down to the warm stones to sit in front of it.
Rey considered the prince quietly for a long moment before she spoke up from out of nowhere. "Are you always in a foul mood, or do you only seem that way?"
Now that was a question. "I would say it only seems that way because I am not adjusting well to the cold," he said slowly. "However, my siblings would probably say that I am always this way."

"That depends on what you consider magic."
