There's a small smile as Jon moves to sit down next to Ringo and Rey, Ghost moving to settle in front of Ringo happily. Granted Ghost likes just lounging with Ringo and being happy in a snuggle pile with the bear. The men are enjoying the sparring and training as people get ready for the battle, but it's not often for Jon recently to sit and get a little relaxing in. So he's also happy to sit and spend half a minute with his friend at least.
"Ringo has to be the most spoiled bear in all of the known world," he teases with a grin. It's a kind teasing, mostly just amused at just how happy the bear looks as he's being brushed. He's pretty sure Ringo rolls around a little extra sometimes to get a little extra brushing when he knows that it's time for grooming.
"You're all so focused on your horses you don't realize if you put in the work for the bear, the bear'll work for you," she grinned back at her friend before stepping to the side just in time for Ringo to flop over with another happy little groaning sound. "Besides, it's far too cold to give him a bath and you remember what happened when I tried to do it inside," unfortunately for both Rey and the bear quite a few people remembered that.
Bending slightly to begin work on brushing the bear's stomach after Ringo had let out another yell, grabbing Ghost and hugging the massive Dire Worlf as though Ghost were his best friend she laughed. "And how could I not spoil him? You're lucky I don't start grooming Ghost so he knows how good the good life can be."
"Hey, I put energy and work into my direwolf instead of my horse." Because honestly, if anyone gets it, he gets it considering his isn't exactly considered a pet either. He chuckles though as Ringo flops over happily, watching the bear with warm affection. He's a good companion, and the fluffies snuggle partner Rey could have. "I do remember, and everyone sound definitely appreciates if you didn't bathe him inside again." Because while it had been a little hilarious, it had also made a lot of people frown. Safer to brush him out here. It got enough looks when she had him snuggle in her room, watching this large furred beast meander down the hallways carefully.
Laughing, he reaches to stroke Ghost's ear gently as the direwolf gives a happy bark and snuggles into Ringo. They are probably some of the best friends Jon has seen in a long time. "You start brushing him and he'll start expecting it from me every day. And while I love my direwolf, there's so many things to get done in a day." Of course, it'd also give him an excuse to get away from those things at least for a little while.
βI wonβt bathe him outside again but mark my words, even if thereβs only one warm day this year Iβll be out here washing my damn bear.β Rey gave a spirited nod as if to punctuate that sentiment. It wasnβt like Winterfell ever had a proper summer or anything like that, but eventually the bear was going to need a bath, whether or not anyone liked it.
βIt might be good for the both of you, you work hard.β Not that there wasnβt a shortage of things to do around the keep. The oncoming attack had only added to that list, and while everyone had risen to the challenge it had left them all on edge as well. "It'll prove a good way to get away at the end of a long day - especially since it'll likely make him more at ease with the dark tasks we all have ahead of us."
"And he will be happy to be bathed and clean, I'm sure." Jon offers a smile for her, because honestly if there were an easier way to help get the bear into the baths or hot spring, he'd definitely see to it and help. But unfortunately there just isn't an easy way to get into them or get there. Maybe if they explored a little more they'd be able to find a different hot spring that was easily accessible for Ringo.
"The work of a King is never done it seems," he sighs softly with a nod. On a good day, there was always something to do but with the battle ahead, it seemed like even more called to his attention on the hourly bases. Though she did have a point, that it might be good for them both. "I'll see what I can do about slipping away and brushing him before bed. Maybe it'll help me sleep easier." Because it'll be a way to kind of unwind and leave the day behind, just focusing on the brushing and his wolf.
As he mentioned it helping him sleep Rey couldn't help but smirk at him, peering over at Jon from where she held onto Ringo's arm, stretching it out so she could brush it. "I bet the princess would find it very endearing," though she didn't know if they had spoken much or not Rey could see the way Jon and the princess looked at one another - especially when they knew the other wasn't paying attention.
